Meghalaya, the “Abode of Clouds,” is one of the most scenic states in Northeast India and is easily accessible from Guwahati. Just a 3–4 hour drive brings you to Shillong, the capital known as the “Scotland of the East.” From there, you can explore Cherrapunji and Mawsynram, two of the wettest places on earth, famous for living root bridges, stunning waterfalls, and misty valleys. Dawki, on the Indo-Bangladesh border, offers crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River, perfect for boating and photography. The journey from Guwahati to Meghalaya is filled with rolling hills, lush greenery, and vibrant Khasi culture, making it an unforgettable road trip. A Meghalaya tour from Guwahati usually takes 5 to 6 days to cover Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki, and nearby attractions, giving travelers a mix of nature, adventure, and cultural experiences.
Itinerary
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, you’ll be greeted and transferred to Shillong (approx. 100 km / 3–4 hours). En route, stop at the scenic Umiam Lake, surrounded by forested hills. Check into your hotel in Shillong and spend the evening at leisure exploring the vibrant local market at Police Bazaar. Overnight stay in Shillong.
After breakfast, visit the breathtaking Laitlum Canyons, offering panoramic views of deep gorges and misty hills. Return to Shillong for local sightseeing, including Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Wards Lake, and the Don Bosco Museum. Enjoy your evening strolling through the lively cafes and local shops. Overnight in Shillong.
Post breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji (approx. 60 km / 2 hrs), one of the wettest places on Earth. Explore the spectacular Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Caves, and Thangkharang Park. Check into a resort surrounded by clouds and scenic beauty. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Early morning, those keen on adventure can trek to the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat (around 3,000 steps one way). This physically demanding trek is deeply rewarding with pristine forest trails and natural wonders. Return by evening. Overnight in Cherrapunji.
Drive to Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village. Stroll through bamboo paths, visit the Living Root Bridge at Riwai, and climb the Sky Viewpoint for a panoramic border view. Continue to Dawki and enjoy a boat ride on the crystal-clear Umngot River. Return to Shillong for overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out and proceed back to Guwahati. Upon arrival, visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important Shakti Peethas in India. Later, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River (optional). Check into the hotel and rest. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Transfer to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of Meghalaya’s mystical landscapes and warm hospitality.

Policy & Terms
- Once you confirm your package with us, Inclusions shall be change subject to rights only.
- If you change your trip with us or extend the date, you will have to pay at least 25% of entire package cost.
- If Helicopter & Battery Car is cancelled due to any reason, company will return only basic refund.
- Early Check in & Late Check Out will be Subject to Availability, Check In/Out 12 Noon.
- 100% Amount of flight tickets at the time-of-flight booking.
- Any rescheduling, cancellation, and refunds of flight tickets shall be as per respective airlines rules.
- 25% booking amount of total tour cost to initiate, if travel date is more than 30 days from the date of booking.
- 50% pay amount after the all confirmation of regarding your booking.
- 25% pay amount before 10 days of the departure date
- Full payment is required on confirmation of all services and before departure.
- Once the booking is done: 25% of package cost.
- 30 days prior to departure: 30% of Package Cost.
- 15 Days prior to departure: 50% of Package Cost.
- 10 Days till the date of departure: 100% of Package Cost.
